About the Scholarship

The Michigan State University (MSU) International Tuition Grant is a highly competitive scholarship designed to support outstanding international undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree at MSU, a leading public research university in East Lansing, Michigan. This merit-based award provides significant financial support, offering up to $25,000 per year for eight semesters, covering a substantial portion of tuition costs. MSU is renowned for its diverse academic programs, vibrant campus community, and commitment to global engagement, with over 200 areas of study, including agriculture, engineering, business, and social sciences. The scholarship fosters a diverse student body, enabling recipients to engage in cutting-edge research, leadership opportunities, and global learning experiences, such as study abroad programs and internships.

Recipients of the International Tuition Grant join a dynamic academic environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced research centers and a robust career services network. The scholarship supports MSU’s mission to promote global perspectives and cultural exchange, preparing students to become leaders in their fields. Scholars are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities, community service, and global initiatives, such as MSU’s Global Spartans program, which connects students with international opportunities. By alleviating financial burdens, the grant allows students to focus on their academic and personal development, contributing to MSU’s reputation as a hub for innovation and inclusivity.

  • Admission to MSU: Applicants must meet MSU’s undergraduate admission requirements and be accepted into a full-time degree program.
  • English Proficiency: International students must provide proof of English proficiency, such as TOEFL iBT 79 (with no sub-score below 17) or IELTS 6.5 (with no band below 6.0). MSU is test-optional for 2025, so SAT/ACT scores are not mandatory but may strengthen applications.
