Job Description: 

  • The HR/Legal Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive human resource management support while ensuring the company’s legal and regulatory compliance within the oil servicing industry.
  • The role will drive people management processes, mitigate legal risks, draft/review contracts, and liaise with regulators, external counsel, and other stakeholders to safeguard the organization’s interests.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL).
  • Professional certification in Human Resource Management (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, CIPD) is an added advantage.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Law, Human Resources, or related field will be an added advantage. 

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ post-call experience in a combined HR and legal role, preferably in the oil & gas/oil servicing sector.
  • Proven experience in HR operations, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and policy development.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate/commercial law, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Track record of drafting/reviewing contracts and liaising with regulators and external counsel.

Technical Skills

  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian labour and employment laws, corporate governance, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Strong HR management skills, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
  • Competence in compliance management and risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management systems.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset and sound judgment under pressure.
